Couple of problems with the Scrapbook projects.
- The students Power Point files are becoming more than their allotted server space and we have no room for anyone to have extra.
- All the printers in the building are running out of toner and drum kits and I have about 1000 (literally) color pages to print.
Maybe we’ll just burn them all to a CD-ROM, but what type of file will definitely be accessible in 25-30 years (the scrapbooks are for their children, ideally).
I taught the beginnings of programming a calculator to my basic math class and they seemed to enjoy it. They were still crazy (my sixth period lives to make me insane), but at least they actually smiled and enjoyed the class for more than the obvious “annoy the teacher” reasons. In some strange way, my sixth period really is my favorite.
The Drama Queens were somewhat hostile, but when I didn’t treat them any differently than anyone else, or than I had in the past they came around. They were both doing their work and really getting the concept I was presenting. Chalk one up for the good guys. Incidentally, I spoke with the asst. principal first think this morning to let him know about my conversation with DQ#2’s mom and that she would be calling. He wasn’t phased and I’m assuming by DQ#2’s blatant, to the point of being funny, attempts to ignore me at the beginning of class she didn’t get out of the Sat. School. She could have ignored her friend.
DQ#3 hasn’t been a problem of late. She was a little crazy on Friday, but not as much as usual for her and definitely not to the level of her classmates. She comes to class and sits and learns. She missed three days last week and successfully caught herself up and jumped right back into class. I don’t know what happened during those days, but it worked. Maybe I’ve been spending too much time at 63days.com.
