Okay I should be putting groceries away, but whatever.
Saying bye-bye at bedtime. Last night as I was leaving Spencer's room at bedtime, he waved and said bye-bye. Using his new word in context without being prompted! Hooray! Also, he waved and said bye-bye to my mom when she left (can't remember if I told him too or not), but he did pucker his little lips to giver her a kiss goodbye and no one had even mentioned a kiss goodbye! He also is starting to actually pucker and trying to make the smooching sound instead of just kinda touching lips.
End of LE. Along the same note, when we were watching Little Einsteins at the end, I was busy doing something and he was standing in front of the TV. When they clapped, he clapped back and when they did pat-clap, he was (almost) doing it too. He was just missing his legs and swinging his arms past his thighs, but his intentions were obvious. And then he waved and said bye-bye when the kids disappeared and the credits rolled. Cool!!!
Bottle holding. Did I already write about this? Oh well if I did. My mom told me yesterday to start helping Rachel hold the bottle and teach her how to do it. I said, "wait a minute, doesn't she just figure it out and start doing it on her own". My mom looked at me like I was completely dense (which apparently I am) and said "No, you have to teach her." I said, "Is that why Spencer NEVER held his bottle???" And she said, "yes, I thought you didn't want him to hold his bottle." Why the fuck didn't someone tell me this???? And even more why was/am I so stupid to think that they didn't need to be taught to begin with. I'm such a moron. Why did I think they'd just learn anything on their own? I'm a teacher by profession for goodness sake!!!!! Ugghh!!! Oh well, I can't go back and change it, so I'm just going to move forward and try to make it all better...
On a good note, I pulled out What to Expect the Toddler Years last night, and according to it, I'm doing a lot of things right. So that's good to know. And there were several questions that covered exactly things that I had questions about, but hadn't asked yet. Cool!
We went to the store this morning. All went well. Rachel got a little upset towards the end, but nothing serious. Spencer ate some grapes. Cool! I'm going to try citrus again and see how it goes. He's ezcema seems to be all gone, so we'll just have to watch for bad poopies. He really does like oranges and other fruits, so hopefully he can start eating them again.
Okay, I've wasted enough time, gotta go put groceries away.
