Oops! When I went in to get Rachel this morning I forgot to turn her alarm off. When it went off, it must have prematurely woken Spence. He was making noise a few minutes later and was ready to get up about a half hour later. Not ridiculously early, he's woken that early before, but he obviously wasn't ready to get up. The first thing he did was the hungry sign LOL. So I got him some milk and offered pancakes or waffles, I couldn't tell whether he was pushing away the pancakes or picking them, but I chose to go with them. Well, apparently he was pushing away because he ate 2 and then shook his head no for more and went to try to open the freezer. So I got out the waffles, let him open the box, and put them in the toaster. He ate an entire one, doing the sign for more when he wanted the second half. Hooray!! Then he kept doing the sign for hungry, but didn't seem to want any more food, puzzling?? I think he wanted me to come to the kitchen and play with his magnets with him. Cause I did and he sat on my lap and we played. Cool!! Then he gave me the sign for sleepy. That's the first time he's used it proactively. He also gave the hungry sign so I offered more waffle, which he didnt want, but he did want milk when I offered that. I think he sees milk as more food than drink. I really can't argue with that though, cause it is. Anyway I put him in bed and he's been resting quietly since. Awesome!!!

He wasn't responding to his name though. Commands with his name in them, yes. His name by itself, no. Hmm...

Rachel woke just before 6, ate, burped, giggled, chilled happily in her swing and went back to bed.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH one more thing... Spencer had his hand on the pic of goldfish crackers on teh cabinet, while I was making the pancakes - well, making is a strong word, I was nuking them. So I said, "Do you want those?" and pointed. He moved his hand, put his index finger down (not up and out, but still separated) and *pointed* to the Ritz. I grabbed the container to give him one!!! Lets hope it really was that!!! Progress!!!
