Rachel finally took her first steps today.  It's funny because just the other day I said to Mike that she wasn't going to be like Spencer.  She wasn't going to take a few steps one day, then a few more a couple of days later, and over the course of a couple of weeks, she'd be walking.  I said that she was just going to let go of the table and walk across the room.  Well guess what happened?

I bought the kids a little table and chairs from Ikea yesterday.  I had just finished putting it together and I was putting all of Spencer's cars in the matching toybox that I also bought last night ;o).  She was making 'pay attention to me' noises like usual, and I turned around to see her walking from the table to me.  Probably 6-7 steps.  Throughout the day she took 2-3 steps at a time probably 4 more times.  By this time tomorrow she will either be running, or refusing to repeat today's performances.  I don't think there will be any in between.

Mike and I had a nice weekend away.  I hesitate to say romantic because it really wasn't.  More relaxing.  We spent a decent amount of time apart actually, but that's what I really needed so it worked for me.  I just needed some time do what I wanted, when I wanted without anyone or anything demanding anything of me.  No decisions, no worries, no listening to anyone.  Blissful.  So we met up for lunch and dinner and spent time together in the evenings.  It was great.  I was a bit apprehensive going into it.  Scared that without the kids I wouldn't know what to do or how to be me anymore.  That didn't happen though, I was able to relax.  It was also great to come home to my kiddos again.

Anyway, Rachel is walking.  Hooray!!
