So now I feel obliged to update lol.  I need to more often.  That's the main reason I used to have a link to this blog in my siggy on obbc.  Because if I thought there might be people reading I would update more.  And it was working.  Damn nbbc!!!  I have a really bad memory so I think that if I don't write down what's happening in my life right now, I might forget.  And the time I have with these two amazing children while they are young is just too amazing to risk forgetting.

What's been happening?  I fired the cleaning service because they weren't doing a good job.  So I've stopped using naptime to relax and started using it to clean.  Uggh!

Spencer's speech is hit or miss.  Some days I'm amazed at his progress and others I'm stunned at how little I understand.  He is cutting his two year molars right now and we seem to be in the really bad part.  He's actually complained about the pain and requested tylenol twice in the last week.  He has started to ask for things using words (other than basic needs).  Like feeding the ducks and seeing chickens lol.  He says yes when I ask him if he wants something instead of just repeating the name of the thing.  He's also answering more and more open ended questions, and doing really well with counting.  He's started bring me books and asking me to read them, too.  He always stays at least (but often just) one step ahead of Rachel.  She says 'more juice' and he says 'want more juice'.  She stands up on the table, he jumps on the chair (though neither of them have started jumping off the furniture yet :o).  I don't know if he 'knows' he's doing it or not.  Not that it matters, she's talking early and putting 3-4 words together occasionally, so I'm all for a little sibling competition in this particular department.

Rachel is growing by leaps and bounds.  Now that she's got walking down, her mind seems to have taken off.  She is rediscovering separation anxiety, but regular trips to the gym have helped.  Just in the last week or so, she has made the leap to being able to play with Spencer instead of playing along side Spencer.  So they are playing peek a boo, and trying to chase each other (she needs to get a little more speedy though), and sometimes they just sit and look at each other and laugh.  Now that she is the one to initiate they play together a lot more.  She's going to be a puppy for Halloween.  A costume I bought for Spencer, but even though the tag said 3t-4t, it's still a bit tight on her.  She misses Spencer when she wakes up and he's still napping and tries to go into his room to see him.  And she gives me the most evil look when I stop her.  She's way too little to have as much attitude as she does.

Mike and I are doing well.  He is recovering from the shock of hearing a professional say the word autism in regards to Spencer.  He just needed to let it sink in without rehashing it, so I let him alone and he seems to be okay.  We have had two good weekends in a row, and I'm hoping for a third this weekend.  Things are finally okay again between us.  He hasn't come home angry in awhile.  There's a new person starting at his work on Monday, they will be a cubemate for him, I hope that goes well.

I've got to get start dinner and Rachel has been trying to close my laptop for a couple paragraphs now.  I'll try to update more often (not that anything exciting ever happens lol).
