Distance: 6.63 miles
Time Running: 1:27:??
Location/Weather/Temp: cold, freezing mist, cloudy, miserable
Notes: The great thing about running outdoors is that even when you have given yourself permission to quit, you still have to get back home. And the only way to do that? Run some more. That pretty much sums up today's run. I was due for a hard one, they've all been great for a couple weeks now. It is cold, rainy and just miserable outside. I could have gone to the gym and hopped on the treadmill, but I knew that if I did that I definitely wouldn't have done the full 6.5 miles, I'd probably not even have done 3. So cold, wet and not really feeling it, I headed out. My walks were as long as my runs and I felt zero push to run up hills or add an extra cul-de-sac. I barely forced myself to do all the ones I'd plan. But I did the whole route as planned and came home to a fresh pot of coffee (thank you hubby!!!) and a long, hot bath. Happy that I did it, happier still that even giving as little effort as I had I still made it in under 1:30. I think I'm ready to register for the half in May. There is no doubt now that I can finish it.
