GRRRRRR!!!!!!

Spencer woke up around midnight last night, from fast asleep to crying in about 3 seconds, literally. I was asleep, but awoke instantly, while dh was still up watching TV. I heard dh go in and soothe Spencer for few minutes and put him back down to sleep. I've ALWAYS gotten up and gone to Spencer when this has happened in the past (either with or w/o dh), but I decided not to becuase I was tired, comfortable and wanted to see if dh could handle it on his own. When dh came into bed, I even said "You go, Superdad!!"

All night Spencer kept waking up and wimpering, just short of actually crying, but didn't seem to ever actually wake up. I kept mentally promising him money/toys/ice cream if would stay asleep so mommy could too.

This morning I go to get him and IMMEDIATELY smell the poop as soon as I crack the door. It was dried to his butt and when I began to wipe it off, Spencer started shaking and screaming in pain. His little butt is incredibly irritated, so I couldn't even fully wipe him off.

I called dh and he said, "well, I guess we'll never know if he pooped last night and I missed it, you know how I am when I'm really tired." WTF???!!! Either he smelled like poop or he didn't. Which I'm guessing he did, or else dh would have said, "No, I'm pretty sure he didn't poop."
