Good Day!
Rachel is fine! That was actually yesterday's news, but it's still good.
Spencer is fine! He did great at the Y childwatch today. No social problems at all. The EI specialist was really nice. The meeting didn't consist of the guidance that I thought it would, but I did get some directions. She didn't really spend much time with Spencer, but I assume that's part of the process. The service coordinator is leaving the program for another job, but we only met her once so that's no big deal. The printout this time was not nearly as bad as the first one. It just had a strengths column and another labeled "next". A LOT of the things in the "next" column could be moved up to the strengths column. I assume next time I see her there will be whole bunch of new stuff in the "next" column. That's cool, though.
The big questions I had were: How do I get him to respond to his name?, How do I get him to point to things?, and ______. I got input on all three, so I have some direction for now. And the EI specialist will be back a week from Monday with more info. And she'll be sending a speech therapist as well.
Trying to be a better person and be a better listener. I've been really self-centered for too long. I need to be (or at least act) concerned for other's as well. Now that things are okay around here, I don't have any excuses.
