Good day today! Mike and I just kinda forgot about last night. Neither mentioned it and we still had a nice day. Whew! I so didn't want to have the day start off sour. Spencer was great. Playing all day with both of us. Talking constantly, though we still have no clue what he's saying. I heard several uh-oh's and no's (na). Lot of pretend play. I love that damn kitchen. We made a stew of bread, some veggies, a burger patty, etc. He's got a ccch sound now that he makes for the pretend water dispenser on the pretend fridge.

Rachel was much better today. I had a brain fart. Moron that I am. She's BORED! Jesus, I really think they should take away my mommy's liscense. I obviously have no common sense. I put some grabby toys on her bouncer and found the bar that hang over the rocker chair thingy. She was much happier to have something to grab at. Spencer helped. He tried to give her a goldfish cracker last night apparently.

Oh, I gave Rachel her cereal with apple juice this morning and she gobbled it up. I decided to start giving her something with dinner too. She had peas for hte first time tonight. Not a fan, though. She pursed those little lips so I couldn't get any in. So cute. Well, she's got three more days to get used to them before we move onto peaches.

I was feeding Rachel her peas while we were eating dinner. Spencer had chicken nuggets and fries, while Mike and I finished off the pizza we'd ordered for lunch (that was our plan b/c I screwed up the corn chowder and had to pitch it). Spencer finished and came over wanting to sit on my lap. He reached for Rachel's spoon. Well since she was clearly done with it, I offered him some, which he didn't like. Pureed peas does look a lot like puke, let's face it. Anyway, he tried to take the spoon anyway. Mike caught on that he might be trying to feed Rachel. Well I helped him guide it to her lips and sure enough that's what he wanted. Apparently seeing the baby eat with a spoon has been his recent inspiration to get that utensil thing figured out. So he "fed" her two bites - her little lips were pursed so she didn't actually get any, but still, it was fucking adorable!

Spencer's last molar either cut or was damn close today. Well the last of the one year molars. I demand a break before the two year molars! I forced my finger in their to check it out and I think I may have forced it to cut :o( . It was really close, but he was cranky for about a half hour after I had my hand in there, so I'm sure I irritated it. Bad mommy! But hooray for being done! Maybe that's what's been holding back the talking??? Probably not, but a mom can hope.

Other than that it was just a really nice day. Nothing too major, but certainly nothing bad either.

Moved Spencer's naptime back to 1230, which gives us time to have lunch before nap, which might encourage him to actually eat dinner. Lunch at 230/3 then dinner at 430/5 was a bit close. And I'm going to get Rachel to nap at 9, 1230, and 4. I figure we'll start with that since she's not taking long naps and hopefully she'll start to extend the morning one (currently 45 minutes after 15 minutes of crying), and drop the middle one, potentially pulling the late one a little earlier. But, I'm committed. I actually woke her up from the middle nap to make sure she'd be tired for the late nap today. It didnt' work very well because she then cried for half of the 4-5 nap. But she woke up on her own at 5. I'll take the small victories. She'll get used to it. Can't expect her to just know what I want her to do, can I. I've got to teach her. That's my job.
