Yesterday, when I was telling Spencer in the morning that Grammie and Grandpa were coming in the evening, he got excited and started saying yay and clapping. I called Lucy and let her hear. Then when they got here, he was genuinely excited and all smiles. Then when Mike got home, I said "Daddy's home!!" and he started clapping and saying yay again. When Mike came in, Spencer went up to him with arms up. Hooray!!!
I sitll haven't heard back from the new EI woman. She called last Thursday and left a message which I immediately returned, but that was it. I keep hearing of all these other kids getting therapy a couple of times a week through EI, and we are lucky to see them once a month. Which is quite frankly useless. I guess we'll keep paying our $15 per visit private therapy. Oh well, we are now with the same person both days, so that's good. And he's starting to really try and talk, too. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much though, it could be a long road for him. I had always hoped it would just happen all at once, like he just all of a sudden starts talking, literally. Alas, it's not to be, but that's okay.
Rachel is asleep again. Maybe I was trying to keep her up too long and missing her cues. So, we are back to square one there. Again. Bummer. Clueless mommy. Is everyone like this? Maybe I should be surfing the May board for info...
