Rachel is still sick though she seems to have turned a corner. Her poops were a little (and I do mean just a little more solid) this morning. But she didn't make a poop after her most recent bottle, so that's also a good sign. I'm thinking more and more that Spencer isn't feeling good too. His morning poop was a little looser than usual and definitely the same yellow color as Rachel's have been. Uh-oh. He was pretty good this morning. Lots of talking. Definitley frustrated at not being able to tell me what he wants. It's frustrating for me too, but also joyous because it means that he's developing the desire for certain things instead of just being happy with whatever is handed to him. I sand the ABC song and he said "very good". And when he was contorted in the Bumbo seat and Lucy was trying to help him out, he pushed away her hand and said, "I... I... I... do it". I'm pretty darn sure that those are the things that he said. Usually his words are no were close, so when I recognize something I go with it.
Mike's surgery went well. Only took a half an hour. The consultation took longer. Lucy was there for the whole thing and brought him home. Then she stayed to play with the kids awhile and volunteered to go get us McDonald's. I'm pausing as I type this to munch on my double cheeseburger. Yum! She offered no less than 10 times (literally) to help out tomorrow if we need anything. Mike's eyes hurt and he has to keep them closed for at least 6 hours, which he is doing.
One more thing... then guys are finally here working on the backyard. They've been dumping dirt for a couple of days, and they showed up this morning to get to work. Well when Spencer saw the big bobcat in the backyard, it must have scared him because he gave a little scared cry and then came running for me with his arms wide. I scooped him up and he just hung on for dear life. When it came back around again I showed it to him and talked about it. Then he went to bed, but I had to close the blinds in his room because he was looking at the window as if it terrified him. He's so damn cute.
