Best day ever. Yesterday. Not today.
I have a list of all the good things that happened because I wanted to remember what a great day it was.
1. Mike felt sick, but woke up not sick. Unprecedented. He also didn't get much sleep, but was not grumpy or 'out of it' like he usually is when he doesn't get a lot of sleep.
2. Spencer said 'em-em' to get an m&m completely unprompted. He stood there waiting and when no one responded to him, he had to take matters into his own hands (er, mouth) and speak.
3. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Sat up on her own (multiple times - she's officially sitting up). Ate peanut butter and loved it. Had juice in a sippy and loved it. Figured out how to hold and drink from a sippy on her own. Crawled on all fours for about a foot. Pulled up to standing in her crib. There was one more thing... And she's officially babbling.
4. My mom came up to spend time with the kids.
5. Had a good visit with Dr. Heather.
It was just a really good day!!!
Today, not so good. I stayed up till 1 working on a layout and Rachel was up at 6. I couldn't go back to sleep after that because I was scared she was going to stand up in her crib and fall over the railing. I lowered her mattress first thing when we all got up for real. They were both up at 7 for real, and alternated naps, so I've had very little down time. Rachel is teething hard all of a sudden (didnt' repeat anything from yesterday practically) so she was VERY whiney and crying all day.
Mike's off tomorrow and going to keep her so I can go to this new mom's group meeting with just Spencer. That will make it much easier for me to interact with some potential new friends. I'm determined to make some friends this year. I need to make some friends. I've joined two new groups. The first met on Tuesday. It was nice, but a little chaotic and Spencer wanted to leave early, so we did. I'm off to bed. I don't want to go (I feel like a little kid - I don't wanna go to sleep), but I really need to get some rest.
