Happy Mother's Day to me! It was a nice day. Mike took the kids to his parents house so I could have some time to myself. I read an entire book. Granted it was a predictable romance novel, but it was nice to sit and read uninterrupted. That hadn't happened since before we had kids. Well, except for Harry Potter. I made an exception for the final two releases.

Mike is depressed again. He thinks that his meds are stabilizing again. Eye roll. I hope for everyone sake that he gets it all sorted out. He'd be a lot better off. He's so open to suggestion. It's difficult sometimes to distinguish what is real and what is only real in his head. Then I start to get pissed and assume that everything is in his head. I have to remind myself of two things. First, it might not be just in his head. And second, even if it is just in his head, it's just as real to him, he can't distinguish between the two anymore than I can. I only know it's true because there are times (in the past - I'm past this petty bs now) when I have either exaggerated a sore throat or called menstrual cramps an upset stomach and within a few hours he has the same symptoms. Even the cramps.

We are going to stop Spencer's speech therapy. Miss Jen is going to a different office on Thursdays. She offered to get us in during naptime on another day or set us up with someone else. Honestly, I don't think that the therapy is doing much good. And I haven't for a long time, maybe ever. So we are going to take some time off, leaving the door open to return later if we think we've made a mistake. He had good days and bad, but he's definitely trying more than ever. His biggest problems are that he doesn't pronounce some sounds yet and that he doesn't finish words. Both of which I see progress on when I work with him. So we'll try to go it alone for awhile.

Rachel is saying 'juice' very effectlvely. I think it means any kind of food or drink but sometimes she really does want juice. She gets pretty adamant. She's also saying uh-oh on cue and she pulled up on the chair today, looked at me and said mama. Happy Mother's Day to me :o). She's doing great!

I was looking at pics of her and Spencer today. Comparing them at the same age, down to the day. They look nothing alike. A little in the mouth, but their eyes are completely different. Spencer had a ton more hair at the same age than she does. I would have like it better if that had been reversed ;o). It will be so interesting to see their features change as they grow up. Add that to the very long list of things it will be interesting to see as they grow up. I'm so excited to see them grow.
