Oh my mother fucking god I am so pissed off right now. I mean fuming mad. For the month of June we had no medical coverage because Mike changed jobs and there was a null period. Of course that would be the time that I fall and twist my ankle and need a trip to the ER. So my ILs were kind enough to give us the money to get cobra for the month. Problem solved right. Nope, not by a long shot. The insurance company is still denying my claims. Even though I have spent HOURS on the phone talking to god know how many different people sorting this all out. However, still not paying it. They just keep denying it. And it gets better. My new insurance company is denying my claims for July. So I now get to spend more time on the phone re 'fixing' the last fuck up and starting to fix the new fuck up. Only to start all over again a couple of months from now when it's all denied again. I truly believe that the insurance companies think that eventually it will just go to collections and they won't have to pay. Ooops, there's a number wrong out of the 45 digit member id number, we don't have to pay, sucks to be you.
They did the same thing last year with Spencer. All of a sudden he wasn't covered. He was the month before and the month after, but not for a few dates. Specifically the dates he had expensive immunizations and an ER visit for scraping his cornea (sound familiar?). It took months for them to finally stop spinning bullshit about wrong numbers and misfiled forms. And I looked like an ass for calling the ladies at the doctor's office - who know me and the kids well - and telling them that the insurance company says they are doing their jobs wrong. Fun times.
And now I get to start it all over again. Except this time I'll be calling hospitals and group associates, so the hold time at the doctors and the insurance companies phone numbers will be much longer. Yippee!!!
