Ten on Tues

1. The half went great. My time was under 3 hours and I wasn’t last (not by a long shot). It took all of three days before I started thinking about running another one. And that next one will be in September.


2. Mike is considering training with me for the next Half. I’m really excited about that. I don’t show him I’m too excited because I don’t want him to feel obligated if his heart isn’t in it. But I really think it would be nice for us to have a long run together every weekend.


3. Mike is working outrageous hours. He worked both weekend days and will probably work all three weekend days this weekend (typically off every other Fri). He’s holding it together, but just barely. I’m proud of him though for handling it as well as he is. I need to make a point of telling him this.


4. Rachel had her first two ER visits within a few days of each other. The first because she fell outside on teh street and I thought she’d broken her nose. The second because she scratched her eyeball. Both were over reactions on my part and she’s completely fine. We are out at least $125 in co-pays though lol.


5. Both kids worked really hard to do their chores for over a month to earn the money for their bikes. Spencer loves his and is a natural at riding. Rachel won’t even sit on hers.


6. Both kids had their first dentist appts today. Rachel did great. Spencer qualified for the ‘pain in the ass’ surcharge.


7. I have a full spa day on Saturday. Mike got it for me for Mother’s Day and for running the half. I plan on doing a long run in the morning so that I really enjoy the massage. I feel really guilty having it while Mike is working for the 13th day straight, but by the time we found out the work situation, it was too late to cancel. My mom is going to babysit.


8. Vacation is the week after next. One positive thing that has come out of this shitty work situation for Mike is that I think he will appreciate this vacation way more than he would have otherwise. I’m really looking forward to it. Just trying to divorce myself from the long held idea of vacation and relaxing. The kids are going to be going non-stop, so we will be too.


9. Rachel will be three next week. I found a ‘mudpie kitchen’ outside toy for her. I know she’s going to LOVE it.


10. My brother Rick and his wife just announced that she is pregnant with their first child. I’m so excited for them.
