It's been too long since I posted. Nothing really going on. Kids are growing and healthy. Mike is calm and happy. I am happy. Dogs are good. Extended family is good for the most part. Life is good.

I have been over the past couple years becoming more and more domestic. It's certainly not the path that I thought my life would take, but nevertheless, I find that I love it. I think the day that I realized the baby food I fed to infant Spencer didn't have to be store bought (which I believe I blogged about on here) set off a culinary revolution of sorts.

Now, I make a good percentage of our food from scratch. All kinds of things that I always assumed that you had to buy. Things like salad dressing, bread, pasta, and packets of taco seasoning are not only healthier and cheaper, they are really easy! The kids can help with a lot of it too. With a little planning, it's pretty reasonable to do.

To think there was a time that I would have let lettuce and tortillas go to waste because I forgot to get a packet of taco seasoning and made spaghetti for dinner instead. Or even more likely, let everything go to waste and gone out to dinner.

I think my next step is to plan a garden... Mostly I just want herbs, but I think I'll try some veggies this spring too.
