I had an ultrasound today and I saw the baby for the first time. It is 1.9 cm long. I also saw the light flicker that indicated the heartbeat! Wow!! What an exciting day.
The receptionist asked me to fill out a hospital pre-registration that included the info that would be on the birth certificate. I just started giggling. I couldn't stop myself. I also met a woman who is 6 1/2 months pregnant who looked like she was at least 8 1/2 months. Maybe my perception is a little skewed.
They did several tests for STDs including HIV, which I found rather disheartening. I'm not concerned for myself, but I just think it's sad that doctor's have to do that for everyone these days. Doesn't say much for our society...
Summer school is going. It's slow and boring. The material that I'm expected to cover is always either too hard or too easy because of the extremely diverse class. Today I taught slope and graphing lines, which is a pretty universally weak area, so it went well. Tomorrow, we extend it to linear inequalities and maybe systems of equations.
Been a slow week (or couple of weeks really) so that's really all there is to say.
