Two nights in a row, I've had to be more stubborn than him and insist that he eat some dinner before having candy/cookies. I know that I want to encourage them to eat for hunger and not just because it's time to eat, but I'm also not going to let them not eat dinner and miraculously get hungry around snack time lol. I'm also amazed at how much he understands of what I say. I was thinking yesterday that that's probably the reason that the term dumb, originally used to describe that someone that doesn't speak, has become synonymous with lack of intelligence. Not because lack of speech means lack of intelligence, but because it's hard to discern intelligence when someone doesn't express themselves through speech. Anyway...
Rachel has been great too. She has regular meltdowns when she thinks that she's being ignored or that I'm favoring Spencer. They are both starting to get jealous of the other. But that's pretty easily remedied - I just ignore her lol. I had to go out in the yard to get Spencer tonight, so I closed the gate on the deck, essentially trapping her in a safe place. It took about 2 seconds for her to realize that mommy was more than 10 feet away and moving farther when the crocodile tears started. She's just so dang cute. I think she's got a second tooth coming through, but it's been a couple weeks now, as predicted, so who know when it will break. She's still eating like a horse, easily 2-3 times what Spence does. We went to Ikea yesterday with Alli and Josh and she seem to really enjoy it. Spencer stayed home with Lucy.
Mike goes to Dr. Heather tomorrow. He's looking forward to it. Thinks it will help him. He had another job interview today. Of course, it was the one that we both thought was pointless and it seems like it might be promising. Isn't that the way it always happens?
Oh and PF Chang's tomorrow night for dinner. I got a free app coupon today at the mall. Yipee!!
